Delete your account

Goodtake has no sign up. When you tap Agree and Continue on the first screen, the app creates an anonymous account for your install, with no name, email or phone number. You can delete it and everything linked to it at any time.

Delete in the app

  1. Open Goodtake and go to Settings.
  2. Under Privacy, tap Delete My Data on Our Server.
  3. Tap Delete to confirm.

Deletion on our servers happens right away, and copies in our daily database backups are gone within 7 days. You do not need to contact us.

Delete by email

If you no longer have the app, we usually cannot tell which anonymous account was yours. Email support@getgoodtake.app anyway: we delete any account we can match, and records we cannot match carry no name, email or phone number. We reply within 30 days and tell you when it is done, or if we could not find an account to match.

What is deleted

On our servers, right away:

  • your anonymous account and its session records
  • your device records, including the App Attest key record
  • your usage records and transcription records
  • cached edit answers
  • any edits you sent with Send This Edit

We never store your video or audio, and we do not keep your words or notes after answering, so there is nothing of those to delete on our servers.

What stays, and for how long

Request logs
Timing, size and error codes, with no content. The link to your account is removed.
Deleted within 30 days.
Analytics and crash reports
Held by our analytics and crash reporting providers, linked to random IDs. Email us to delete them sooner.
Deleted when each provider's retention period ends.
Database backups
Daily copies of our database made before you deleted.
Gone within 7 days.
Copies at our speech-to-text and AI providers
Some providers keep what they processed for a limited time to monitor for abuse.
Deleted on the provider's own schedule.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple keeps your purchase history. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription.

Records we must keep
A minimal record when the law requires it or when we need it to prevent fraud, such as repeated free trials.
Only as long as needed for that reason.

On your iPhone

Deleting your server data does not touch your videos. Your recordings, imported clips and projects stay on your iPhone and in Photos until you delete them. To remove everything Goodtake keeps on your phone, delete your projects in the app or delete the app. Items saved to Photos stay there until you delete them in Photos.

If you use Goodtake again after deleting your data, it creates a new anonymous account.
