Answers to common questions, and a real person when you need one.

Email us

If something went wrong, tell us your iPhone model, iOS version and Goodtake version (Settings > About in the app).

Credits and plans

How do credits work?

Editing a video uses 1 credit for every started 5 minutes of footage, counting all clips and takes in the video together. A 4 minute video uses 1 credit, a 12 minute video uses 3. A video can hold up to 60 minutes of footage.

Your plan shows how many credits you have. Credits have no cash value.

Is there a free trial?

Some plans include a free trial with free credits. Before you confirm, the purchase screen shows what the trial includes, how long it lasts and what you will pay when it ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want to continue.

Subscriptions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Apple manages subscriptions, so you cancel on your iPhone:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Goodtake, then Cancel Subscription.

Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments and refunds, so we cannot issue them ourselves. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy.

How do I restore my purchases?

On a new iPhone or after reinstalling Goodtake, open the plan screen in the app and tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not show up, email support@getgoodtake.app.

Privacy and your data

Does Goodtake upload my video?

No. Your video never leaves your iPhone. Goodtake reads your clips where they are in Photos and edits and exports them on your phone.

To find your words, it sends only the sound, in short compressed pieces, to a speech-to-text service through our server. To pick takes, it sends the words, their timing and any note you add to an AI model through our server. Our server does not keep the audio or the words after it answers. The privacy policy has the details.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign up. Goodtake creates an anonymous account for your install so our servers can apply limits and keep track of your credits. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, go to Settings > Privacy > Delete My Data on Our Server. Or email support@getgoodtake.app. Your videos stay on your iPhone until you delete them. See Delete your account for what is deleted and when.

How do I stop sending crash reports and usage data?

Turn off Settings > Privacy > Share Crash Reports and Usage. Nothing more is collected after that.

Using Goodtake

Which iPhones does Goodtake work on?

Goodtake needs an iPhone with iOS 26 or later.

Does Goodtake need an internet connection?

Yes, to turn your speech into text and to pick takes. Recording, previewing, editing and exporting happen on your iPhone.

Where are my videos saved?

Recordings you make in Goodtake are saved to Photos, in a Goodtake album when you allow full access. Finished videos are saved to Photos when you export. Clips you import from your library stay where they are; Goodtake opens them without copying them. If you pick clips without giving Goodtake access to Photos, it keeps a copy inside the app.

Goodtake cut something I wanted to keep. What can I do?

Open the line in the editor and swap in another take. Goodtake keeps every take, and your original clips stay in Photos, so nothing is lost. Review your video before you post it.

Something is not working. How do I report it?

In the app, go to Settings > Report a Problem. It attaches a small file with your app version and iOS version, never your videos or words. You can also write to support@getgoodtake.app.
